To suggest Obama committed treason for bringing a soldier home is out of line. The man deserves his time in a US court of law and not hung out to dry because a squad of men didn't like him.
no:
Returning war criminals to an active military theater is indeed treason. The U.S. has military intelligence that says at least one of the 5 terrorists returned and promptly contacted the Taliban. I have friends and family members serving in Afghanistan. That their Commander in Chief put their lives in danger is beyond reprehensible.
@AnneC:
You mean Bush, right? He's the one that started the wars.
Look, you'll get your pound of flesh. Punishment for desertion is death by firing squad
@HipKat:
Wrong, wrong, and wrong again.
1. Read my reply to Mahkno.
2. I wasn't calling out Bergdahl. I was calling out the Commander in Chief for releasing murderers to fight again against U.S. soldiers (and our allies) in Afghanistan.
3. Punishment for desertion is NOT death by firing squad. It's a maximum of 5 years in prison. Bergdahl is also charged with "Misbehavior before the enemy", a crime which can carry a life sentence. The death sentence...by any means...is not applicable in this case.
