Many people here have been very generous with your "tips" and "donation to charity" to help support the East Bluff Community Center Food Pantry. My neighborhood and I appreciate it very much! If you would like to help even a bit more, I posted this on our neighborhood social media page.
April 8th I will be at the East Bluff Community Center from 3 to 6:30 PM with a drive-by food drive for the pantry. Basic supplies that we will need during the month of April, are: Ramen Noodles, 16 oz. jars of peanut butter, family-sized boxes of cereal, large rolls of toilet tissue and 1lb. packages of hamburger. Both food banks have changed their operations during this time and although we can get donations, we can no longer "shop" the warehouse for what we need or want. Any donation is welcome, but some items may not be on the shelf until we are back to normal.
The last two weeks have been strange. We have not had our usual system, but we have tried to help as much as we can. We will continue to give as long as we can. Hopefully, things will be back to normal. We know we cannot meet all the needs a family may have, but we hope to help them stretch what resources they have.
In the two weeks that we have been on "social distancing", we have served 77 families. Thirty-three were first time visitors. The need is real and growing. Even a couple of large rolls of tissues help.
I will be at the double glass doors on New York, just south of Kansas.
Thank you!
