There is no "REAL" Supreme Court anymore. We all know it is true.

@Mahkno :
Actually, it was just one justice that issued a Emergency ruling, and it was the justice nominated by Biden.
Article excerpt: "The Supreme Court on Friday granted the Trump administration's emergency appeal to temporarily block a court order to fully fund SNAP food aid payments amid the government shutdown, even though residents in some states already have received the funds.

A judge had given the Republican administration until Friday to make the payments through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. But the administration asked an appeals court to suspend any court orders requiring it to spend more money than is available in a contingency fund, and instead allow it to continue with planned partial SNAP payments for the month.

After a Boston appeals court declined to immediately intervene, Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson issued an order late Friday pausing the requirement to distribute full SNAP payments until the appeals court rules on whether to issue a more lasting pause. Jackson handles emergency matters from Massachusetts.
Her order will remain in place until 48 hours after the appeals court rules, giving the administration time to return to the Supreme Court if the appeals court refuses to step in."

So, depending on how things go, the courts could still order the full SNAP payment. Let's hope so.
Question for @Billybob:
We realize funds are budgeted for various government agencies. But surely there are times when money is transferred from one find to help another, then paid back? DJT did it with military funds to get his Mexican-paid wall built, right? So why couldn't the rest of SNAP funds come from another totally different government fund, such as military research, as long as it gets reimbursed? Or that would take an act of Congress, and Speaker Johnson would have to call them back into session from their 7 week PAID vacation, and have to swear in the new AZ rep too....something Johnson's been told not to do by someone higher up....
My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

@DennisinPeoria :
What happened is that Justice Katanji Browne Jackson is the justice who hears emergency appeals from the 1st circuit, which this was. No doubt because of the implications and enormity of this matter, she will have the entire court review the appeal and they will make a decision. They could also decide to let the lower court ruling stand. They will no doubt consider how the money is being moved around and take that into account too. There is only so much that can be done regarding moving the money around. Rulings and decisions like this happen often. Many lawyers, on both sides, of the issue really did expect a ruling like this. The vast majority of those lawyers also expect that sooner rathe than latter there will be a ruling that will require the funds to be distributed.

While this is waiting to play out, there is a school a block away from Justice Kavanaughs house where there is a food bank and food drive. Cars are backed up for 7 blocks to either make donations or to get food. So, maybe he sees this and it makes an impression. At least we can hope it does.

More on feeding his narcissistic ego?

apnews.com/article/t rump-washington-comm anders-stadium-name- nfl-d229beaf321

Somehow it came about that someone suggested that the President wants new Washington Commanders football stadium be named after him. Article excerpt:
"The White House said Saturday it would be "beautiful" to name the new stadium for Washington's NFL team after President Donald Trump following an ESPN report that an intermediary has told the Commanders' ownership group that he wants it to bear his name.

Trump could deliver the message in person on Sunday when he is expected to watch the Commanders play the Detroit Lions at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland. American veterans are scheduled to be honored at halftime.

"That would surely be a beautiful name, as it was President Trump who made the rebuilding of the new stadium possible," said Karoline Leavitt, press secretary for the Republican."

So exactly what did DJT do to help rebuild the stadium? Well, for one, he threatened the deal if the team name wasn't changed back to the Redskins.
But then look at this from the article:
"Democratic President Joe Biden signed a bill late last year to transfer land, which included that old stadium, from the federal government to the city. The deal, with the team contributing $2.7 billion and the city investing roughly $1.1 billion for the stadium, housing, green space and a sports complex on land bordering the Anacostia River, was approved by the D.C. City Council in September, and demolition has begun."
Hmm, I don't see anything about the CURRENT White House administration helping to secure the deal. But, if anyone can find any links to news articles that say DJT had a heavy hand in getting the deal done, please link it.

My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

Given his history with the NFL, I don't see that happening.

@skutfarcus : Maybe he'll try to reconstitute the USFL and name a stadium after himself? Albeit briefly since bankruptcy will soon ensue.
