Chillicothe station's at $4.79, didn't see what Casey's in Lacon was. Reporter and I needed to get back, so after I dropped her off, went to usual Beachlers to top off tank (company wants no lower than 1/2 tanks)
and their price is $4.89.
and their price is $4.89.
A gallon of diesel, yes. Minimum wage is $7.25.
But after COVID, how many places in the US still pay that low of a minimum wage? However, I wouldn't be surprised if regular gas in states like California, Florida, or New York will rise up over that $7.25 level.

In related news, more oil and gas rigs have gone up, ready to drill.
U.S. Oil, Gas Rig Count Creeps Up With Strong Prices | OilPrice.com share.google/DSdaKxb mm6wXKHjWy
Excerpt: "The total number of active drilling rigs for oil and gas in the United States rose this week, according to new data that Baker Hughes published on Friday, with the total rig count in the US rising to 595, up 53 from this same time last year.
The number of active oil rigs rose by 2, reaching 452 during the latest reporting period, according to the data. This is 34 above this same time last year. The number of gas rigs also rose by 2 to 134, which is 16 more than this time last year. Miscellaneous rigs stayed the same at 9." While I'm sure these were approved a long time ago, I can see the WH guy taking all credit for it. (Unless they were approved during his 1st term). The question is, what kind of oil will be coming, will it be for just US refineries, will the gas be just for the US? Or, it'll be exported to whomever is willing to pay the best price? Still, with oil being an global commodity, you'd think it would help lower oil prices. But not if the WH guy decides to keep things static overseas so he and his wealthy donors can make $$$ from inside trading tips on decisions made at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
My opinion and mine alone.

$4.79/gal for 87 octane
$5.79/gal for 93 octane Springfield Meijers. Meijer's offers Top Tier gas too.
AverageSue reacted $5.79/gal for 93 octane
Creve Coeur Thornton's dropped to $4.69 yesterday. But I haven't used that particular Thornton's gas for a long time.
Slowly approaching the $10 mark at the pump. When you factor in the cost of other items affected by high fuel prices, we're effectively paying well over ten dollars a gallon.

Americans across the country are voicing their frustrations on gas prices, no matter if they'll vote Democrat or Republican in November.

"Despite what Trump says, there are few things that may matter more this election year than the price of a gallon of gasoline, according to political operatives in both parties. Gas prices are moving sharply in the wrong direction at a time of year when drivers typically get some relief. The national average for a gallon of gas reached $4.48 on Friday, according to AAA, up roughly 17 cents over the last week, 40 cents in a month and $1.27 from a year ago. "Gas prices matter because they're one of the few economic indicators voters experience and see in real time," said veteran Republican strategist Chris Wilson. "The price is literally staring them in the face several times a week. So I wouldn't minimize the frustration we're seeing, particularly among working- and middle-class voters." Interviews with voters this week found bipartisan frustration and disappointment." Donny says the increased costs are a small price for the Iran War. Yeah, when was the last time he gassed up a tank? Probably never. How much more $$$ in gas does it take his Secret Service to fill up the 10 or more escort vehicles every time he leaves the White House?
He never sees those gas invoices, so how does he know? No staff is going to relay those increased costs to him, because it's bad news. And staff gets fired for giving him bad news.

This is what happens when all the little guys sell to major companies. Now that we have them all taking care of the people they can do as they please. If I want to sell for less or more someone will complain.
Feel bad for everyone. That diesel fuel delivers most of our purchases. Prices can only go up all across the board.
Over 20 trucking companies have gone out of business in the past few months.
