Oil flirted with $119.00 this morning. For now, it has settled around $114.50. All time high is $147.50 reached in July, 2008. Hard to see how with the current mindsets, conditions and strategies that oil will not eventually break through that range, keep going and setting some new all time highs along the way.
Jet fuel and diesel fuel have increased at greater rates. Stock market looks set to open down around 180 points, setting another 2026 low.

Vance will be having a meeting with the oil co. executives today. It is extraordinarily interesting that Vance is having the meeting and not Trump.

Hegseth says that today will be the biggest day of bombing in Iran. But Trump says that we have already decimated and destroyed almost everything they have. So why would we keep bombing there? And didn't Trump say that we destroyed Iran's nuclear weapons capabilities last summer? This is all very confusing! 😕

Many other middle east countries have been getting attacked by Iranian missiles and drones, regardless if it hits US bases. What are they doing to use their military forces and weapons to fight back?

Video Title: Tulsi Gabbard grilled by lawmakers on war with Iran
Today, a US F-35 jet fighter was on a mission over Iran when it was struck by something, The plane was able to make an emergency landing at a US base in the Mideast An investigation has been opened,
DennisinPeoria and RambleOn reacted Word is that the fire was caused by an electrical fault in a dryer vent. Ongoing investigation to determine if was an accident or not.
@mypeez :
Yes, that is true.
They were supposed to go to Norfolk, They had been on deployment for close to 8 months. Lots of concern about sending them to the Mideast. Hegseth and Trump saw no problem about extending the deployment.
Hopefully, they get back to Norfolk by late May/early June. If so, they will have been deployed a year or more which will be the longest deployment for an aircraft carrier since Vietnam.
There are an increasing number of maintenance issues, that, so far, they have been able to handle.

This is the first US war that started out with a majority of the country against the war, Not a good starting point.

Very soon, Trump and Hegseth will be sending a request to congress for an authorization for $200 billion for the Iran War. There are some Rs who are against it so things will be rather complicated. Even more complicated because of internal R polling. Trumps numbers are in the gutter. Likewise, for the Rs on the Hill. However, they are a few points higher which seems like it might motivate some Rs to stand up to Trump.

Surprised he's actually going through Congress for the $200 billion. He usually ignores Congress, declares an "Emergency", and just spends the money.
My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

Congress is more or less demanding it especially in an elections year for them.
Conflicting messages from the temporary White House resident. From the AP:
apnews.com/live/iran -war-israel-trump-03 -20-2026 "Trump says US is considering 'winding down' its Middle East military operation.
The president made the comment in a post on social media Friday evening after another climb in oil prices sent the U.S. stock market sharply lower. Trump's statement seemed at odds with his administration's move to send more troops and warships to the region and request another $200 billion from Congress to fund the war. In his post, the president also left a muddled picture of whether the U.S. would police the vital Strait of Hormuz shipping lane. Trump had said this week that the U.S. didn't need help, while also complaining that other countries did not help." So which is it, Mr. President? You, in your right mind, apparently can't make up your mind. Or what you post or say on video depends on what or how the stock markets or oil prices are reacting? Or, you make comments that make the stock markets dip quite a bit to allow your wealthy friends and donors to swoop in on bargain rates; then make a killing in profit after you make comments that make the Wall Street jump up again. Not every middle income tax payer is able to do that. You also need a serious sit-down meeting with Hegseth, joint chiefs of staff, Rubio, and a non-governmental intelligence expert (not one of your loyal ring kissers)
and decide on a consistent message and plan on the next steps in ending this war. And make sure everyone in your administration calls it a war. And then end it, no matter what blackmail Ben has on you.
My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

@DennisinPeoria : Is the Washington Post still tracking the number of times he's lied? Trump's Secret Invasion Plan With Elite Troops Is Exposed
www.thedailybeast.co m/trumps-secret-inva sion-plan-with-elite -troops-is-expo

The Pentagon is actively preparing for a ground war in Iran just a day after President Donald Trump claimed that he has no plans to put U.S. troops on the ground. U.S. military officials have drawn up detailed plans to deploy ground forces into Iran, including elite rapid-response units such as the 82nd Airborne Division, according to CBS News. Multiple sources briefed on the discussions say the plans go far beyond routine military readiness, including meetings on how to detain Iranian soldiers and paramilitary fighters, and where to send them if U.S. troops enter Iranian territory. News of the plan coincides with an accelerating U.S. military buildup in the region. A few thousand soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division could be deployed as part of the plans, which are underway but not yet approved, according to the CBS report. The Washington Post confirmed the plan, also noting it was not yet approved.
