@AverageSue : most all United States citizens who are not minors are eligible to vote. One notable exception is when a person has a felony conviction. Despite what many people think, there are no federal laws in place that regulate felon voting. So, until Congress passes a law to that effect, states must determine felon voting rights for both state and federal elections.

While I do believe you should have voting restored after completion of sentence (including any probationary period), you can't blame others for you not being able to vote. You COULD raise up your voice and fight for that, or complain here... but you have criticized others here for speaking up and trying to make changes. The irony is not lost on me.

I try to vote for the least corrupted candidate, as long as they are in line with my other core beliefs. I will be at the election commission office as soon as early voting is scheduled. I consider voting an important right and a true responsibility.
