I got my property tax bill today. I don't have the money to support that. With how much they went up, I better be getting a huge f-in raise.
Kinda odd if ya think about it. The county taxes me on my house to pay my salary.

Interesting thing about the property tax bill....the rate actually went down, but the value went up. So you're being taxed more for a house you didn't sell. Go figure

I noticed three gas stations in Peoria which were above the $5/gal. mark have slipped back to $4.99. I wonder if they were losing sales due the mental aspect of $5/gal and gas was cheaper close by. Or they jumped the gun thinking other stations would follow the upward trend and didn't.
In a related funny, I noticed some dark purple spots (under $4/gal) on GasBuddy's map. I randomly clicked on an area and this came up: Average Gas Price for Bacon $3.821. So if you pay in bacon somewhere in SE Georgia, your gas is much cheaper. Hmmm.....bacon or gas. Rough choice. (Apparently, there is a Bacon County GA that has freaking cheap gas compared to us.)

Just to think price taxed them gallons. Taking money from you no matter how you will pay it.
Gasoline is taxed on a fixed rate per gallon. Higher prices lead to reduced purchasing and lower tax revenue. This results in reduced revenue for Illinois governments.
Seems gas prices in this area are varying. A couple in Peoria are still at 5.19. Many are at 4.99. I've seen some lower than that. Thornton's in CC is 4.69. But some Casey's in Pekin, NP still higher.
The price of gas will likely go up there within the next couple of days. We were averaging $3.899/gallon in DFW, but the new price is now $4.299/gal, which I believe is an all-time record high for regular unleaded here. They just raised the price earlier tonight. Unless anything drastically changes, I’m betting that gas in Peoria will eventually reach $6/gal.

Oil prices have dropped $10 in the last 3 days. We should see a decrease at the pump. Oh, wait! An immediate price change only happens when the price of oil goes up, not down.

We noticed a couple places at 4.69 along Peoria Road/Veterans Parkway yesterday near Sherman.
