Nancy Mace on unredacted names in Epstein files: 'You would be shocked'
thehill.com/homenews /house/5735449-mace- shocked-epstein-file s-names/
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) said Wednesday people would be "shocked" by the names that have been redacted from files tied to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein that were publicly released Jan. 30.

Her comments come after lawmakers were given the opportunity to review the unredacted files in a reading room at the Department of Justice (DOJ).

"You would be shocked, Piers, at some of the names that I have seen that came across the DOJ in emails that the DOJ is protecting," Mace said during a Wednesday appearance on "Piers Morgan Uncensored."

"And we're talking about people on both sides of the aisle. We're talking about famous people, rich people, people in power, prime ministers, former prime ministers, former presidents, et cetera, media personalities that are named in these files," she added.

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), speaking on the House floor Tuesday, shared the names of the six men he claimed were "likely incriminated" in the Epstein files.

Mace has been a vocal backer of Epstein's survivors, who are pushing to publicize the names of wealthy and powerful men associated with the disgraced financier's crimes.

Mace, who's spoken publicly about her experience as a sexual assault survivor, left a meeting with Epstein victims in September visibly upset.

"I feel the immense pain of how hard all victims are fighting for themselves because we know absolutely no one will fight for us," she wrote on social platform X at the time.

Mace is among a group of GOP lawmakers who have demanded more transparency from the Trump administration, joining Democrats to pass the Epstein Files Transparency Act late last year.

Some of their colleagues in the upper chamber say they are just now realizing the weight of crimes committed by the late millionaire.

"I've not been one of the members who has glommed on to this as an issue," Republican Sen. Cynthia Lummis (Wyo.) said earlier this week. "I've sort of intentionally deferred to others to find out about it. But 9-year-old victims … wow."

Bring them all down, every single one of them. Justice for the survivors. Crime is crime, you can't buy your way out of it. Set the precedent, starting NOW!

@CCubs :
and I'd like to see accountability for all people trying to cover this up, and not just the current people!

I've heard it said it will crumble the current system. Perhaps that is a good thing!!

I find it hard to believe Melania participated in any underage sex encounters. She may have been a victim, willing or not, in some cases. Yet, her name was not redacted if she was a victim.
You have to wonder if a lot of names were people who just met Epstein, had dinner, nothing else. But how do we find out who actually had sexual encounters with underage girls, and did Epstein help set it up? That's the main issue, naming those who took advantage of young women on or off the island. They should be prosecuted, no matter who they are, or what political or celebrity status they have.
My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

@DennisinPeoria : How about the DOJ interview the survivors? That would seem like the most [logical] place to start.

@mypeez :
Not being naive, just being open minded. Are we sure that everyone who's listed in the files are guilty of underage sexual encounters? I don't think anyone's thought about that perspective. If someone just spoke to Epstein by phone or email on a business matter, and never even met the guy or indulged themselves with his girls, and they have proof, should they be forced to resign?
Keep in mind, I'm convinced guys like DJT, Musk, maybe Clinton, and billionaire friends who couldn't help themselves, are 100% guilty of forcing themselves on underage girls.
But with millions of pages still not released, and DOJ lawyers working feverishly to redact DJT, his donors and friend's names, it's going to take time for members of Congress to go through unredacted pages when reportedly the DOJ only provided 4 computer stations to work with. That in itself is ridiculous.
My opinion and mine alone and no one else

@CCubs :
Oh, Ioved that part of the hearing that Bondi was at, and the committee asked the question to survivors about if they never were contacted by the DOJ, and they all raised their hands.

@DennisinPeoria :

If every name that comes out going forward had en encounter with an underage child, it still would be that there are a few, so far, that were with Epstein but were not present or had any any encounters. Also, no one has come forward to say they are lying or has offered proof to the contrary.
Some of them abandoned Epstein when they first heard rumors. Others continued to get rides on Epstein plane when it suited them but did not have encounters etc. Those names were released in the UK.

If we just had a Department of Justice that was willing to do the work that they are SUPPOSED to do.
