Just looked at Gas Buddy for East Peoria and the top 10 stations are all under $4. The top seven are under $3.90.

Oil prices are not the same as gas prices.

I figured this would happen. Wonder how many refiners are supporters and donors to the Big WH guy and his worshipping lawmakers....
I just noticed on GasBuddy that the gas station across from the bingo hall in East Peoria is the cheapest in the area, even cheaper than Costco, at $3.66 a gallon. It's obvious the Peoria gas Mafia is still at work; I've personally only seen two stations in Peoria under $4.
The old Colliseum by the intersection of 29 and Wesley Rd.
and right before the hill going up to Creve Couer.
That Creve Coeur gas station is a Freedom brand, probably more "cut-rate" than most others. I avoid that brand.
What's interesting is Thornton's in CC is 3.69, cheaper than Pekin's, except for Kroger, who is cheaper than Casey's. But seems prices are fluctuating, and the local Mafia has lost some control...
The station near me was busted years ago for adding water to the gas. Literally the owner was caught running a hose to the underground tank in the middle of the night. After searching the station office they found a notebook with calculations of how much water to add that wouldn't cause engine issues and the flow rate of the station's water spigot.
It just seems some gas brands work better in our cars than others. Casey's is our #1 go-to, while Kroger's is 2nd, but only at end of month when we use fuel points. Wife doesn't like having Kroger gas in her Malibu that much, but their 89 Octane for my Encore gives me a little mileage boost.
The last time I used Creve Coeur Thornton's gas, it caused some engine issues, so I've avoided that station. Same with CC Shell, had issues long time ago.
For work vehicles, use Beachlers Shell because it's closest. But have also used Casey's, Circle K, and BP. Just depends on need and location.
