@HipKat : If and when I ever disassemble my system, I'd have to mark everything so I knew how to hook it back up.

mypeez : Thx. I don't have speakers yet, since I wasn't sure which speakers would work with that stuff

@HipKat : I assume you know this, but you need regular speakers, not the powered ones that everyone is using with WiFi systems. I haven't kept up on what the latest bookshelf ones would be the best bank for buck these days. I had a pair of floor standing Advent Legacy speakers (8 Ohm, 150W) back in the 80s and they made a matching bookcase (8 Ohm, 60W). Speakers are a matter of subjective taste. I've since migrated to all in-wall, so its pretty much convivence these days.

@HipKat : The Luxman receivers have line level pre-amp outs, see www.google.com/url?s a=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s& source=web&cd=2&ved= 2ahUKEwipy67Z0N . This would allow you to hook up the Sherwood amp to the receiver, still it's all going to be 2 channel stereo. Sound like they were using this as a whole house system, with the 50W Luxman receivers being the various "zones".

@HipKat : I bulk ordered a ton of stuff from Monoprice during our build. We went a little crazy with in-wall volume controls and IR repeaters, see www.monoprice.com/ca tegory/cables/audio- cables/speaker-wire .

If you are routing wires in-wall as a retrofit you might want something with heavier wall thickness, Monoprice's outer jacket split pretty easily when we were pulling cable through open studs. Still decently priced, solid core (stranded) copper as long as you are careful with it.

If you want to just get it going, even Menard's carries some speaker wire. If you are getting all Audiophile, then Blue Jeans Cable is good start www.bluejeanscable.c om/store/speaker/ind ex.htm .
