@goob : Talk to Quincy Media. Mediacom is ion the same boat and DTV's contract is up with them soon. They want a 200% increase over the old contract. BTW, Dish is giving out free OTA antennas. Mine picks up 32 channels

@HipKat : I've got 7 TV's 4 are on dish and the other three have the window antennas. Will the OTA antenna work for all the tv,'s if I have a cable wire ran to them?

@goob : We had a similar thread on OTA antennas not too long ago. Yes it'll work, but you'll probably need a booster if you split 1 OTA antenna to 7 TV's. Its not the fault of the antenna, but the dB loss per foot of coax cable and each splitter that knocks down the signal strength each time you add more TVs.

Past thread on OTA, www.peoria.com/messa ge_board/view_messag e.php?parent_message _id=1191395&pag There are a number of links to sites which can help with the best OTA antenna for your location and estimating the type of booster you'll need if you do multiple drops off the same antenna.

The Comcast splitter and booster is on the left and the OTA system is on the right.

My coax run was pushing 200' since I have the TV tower attached to the freestanding garage and not the house. I probably could have used a preamp at the antenna, but it gets pretty decent signal strength at each room. (and yes, I hand dug that myself.)

@goob : If you have a Hopper, the OTA uses an adapter to plug into the USB port on the back and then populates the program guide, so all the Joeys have OTA Channels, also

@billybob : That's great. We rarely have issues, can't remember the last time - a couple of years ago maybe.
