What will it take to push him over the top and finally get Darin out? I've always like(d) Ray, but the son is not the father by a long stretch. Dave Koehler ought to be enough proof that a Peoria Democrat can work with local industries' interests, i.e. Big Yellow and the hospitals and not be an "AOC radical".

In fact this billboard, strategically placed just outside of the FOLEP building (also hosting Tazewell County early voting) along IL Route 8 ought to be the issue to have helped turn the hospitals against Darin. Big Yellow on the other hand is probably still playing along. They were able to donate their way out of the worst of a whistleblower lawsuit in Trump's first term with Bill Barr as AG, see www.constructionequi pment.com/industry-n ews/news/33038563/ca terpillar-inc-c

Darin LaHood has failed us

darinlahoodhasfailed .us/

1) He doesn't care what you think - he won't even take your questions.
LaHood did not host a single town hall from April 2018 to April 2025.

2) He doesn't care if you can afford a doctor - or make it to the ER.
LaHood voted yes on the "Big, Beautiful Bill" - the largest transfer of wealth from working families to the rich in American history. Thousands of Illinoisans have already seen their health care premiums spike dramatically.

3) He doesn't care if farmers' crops rot in silos - instead of being exported.
LaHood has supported Donald Trump's trade wars and tariffs every step of the way, putting Illinois farmers last and Trump's political fights first.

Because of the trade war with China, Illinois soybean exports fell from $1.3 billion in 2017 to $116 million in 2018 - a 90% drop - and further collapsed to just $29 million by 2020.

4)He doesn't care about anyone - who isn't a billionaire.
The only people LaHood's votes have helped are the ultra-wealthy. The "Big, Beautiful Bill" raised health care costs, threatened hospitals, defunded after-school programs, and hurt soybean farmers - all to facilitate the largest redistribution of wealth from working families to billionaires in American history.

There are some people around that think this is one of the districts that there could be an upset. They make that decision based on a number of things including the political environment in adjacent and adjoining districts.

Didn't see WMBD report on this locally, just some BS AP feed and zero in the Urinal Jar!?! Ironically we drove through it after early voting ourselves about an hour before running errands in Peoria.

An impressive turnout that stretched for more than a block along Main Street back downtown, way bigger than just the concentration shown at the intersection. We then passed 2 Peoria PD units heading towards it.

'No Kings' rally in Peoria, Bloomington pushes early voting
www.25newsnow.com/20 26/10/18/no-kings-ra lly-peoria-bloomingt on-push-early-v
PEORIA (25News Now) - With Election Day less than three weeks away, Central Illinois activists rallied to encourage early voting.

Organizers of the rally at University and Main streets in Peoria said their aim is to ensure every voice is heard.

A similar rally was held Saturday in McLean County on the lawn outside the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts.

Beyond the signs and chants, organizers said they hope to encourage voter participation and inform people about early voting.

"Your vote does make a difference. And voting is probably the number one tool that we all have to actually own some of the power to make changes in the government leaders that we have that are supposed to represent us," said Theresa Kuhlmann of Peoria 50501.

Election Day is Nov. 3, but rally organizers want Illinois voters to know their voice doesn't have to wait until their ballot is cast.

For about the last year or so, WMBD does not air news on Saturdays. Instead, "On The Record" is interviews with local people and, with this year, candidates for election. (Weather and sports is still on)
Any news happening on Saturdays (and Sunday) is aired on *WMBD News Weekend " on Sundays.
The No Kings Rally story will be shown tonight.

"No Kings" Instagram group blocked: Zuck's favor for WH?

Social media shutdown at the worst possible moment! As thousands of Americans gathered across the country for another wave of demonstrations against President Donald Trump, 80, Mark Zuckerberg's Meta abruptly suspended the main Instagram account of the powerful "No Kings" protest movement. Organizers lost access to one of their most important communication platforms just as they were mobilizing supporters nationwide.

The incident on Saturday, October 17, immediately sparked accusations of political censorship and renewed scrutiny of the relationship between Silicon Valley executives and the Trump administration. The No Kings Coalition accused Meta of interfering with its ability to organize public demonstrations and encourage participation in the upcoming November 3 congressional elections.

Meta later apologized, blaming the suspension on an automated enforcement system triggered by unusually frequent account activity. The company restored access and insisted that the restriction had been imposed in error. However, organizers disputed the explanation and demanded assurances that similar disruptions would not occur during the final weeks before Election Day.

No Kings Instagram Account Suddenly Disappears
The trouble began around 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, according to the protest coalition. At the height of its nationwide day of action, the organization's official Instagram presence suddenly became inaccessible. Administrators were locked out, supporters could not reach the account, and organizers were temporarily unable to distribute updates through the platform.

The interruption came as activists were staging nearly 3,000 events across the United States under the banner "No Kings: Vote Early." The movement, which emerged in opposition to Trump's second administration, had shifted much of its attention toward voter mobilization ahead of the midterm elections.

Organizer Ezra Levin, a co-founder of the progressive organization Indivisible, learned of the suspension while attending a demonstration. Speaking to MeidasTouch, Levin said Meta had effectively shut down the coalition's Instagram communication channel during one of its busiest organizing periods.

"They suspended it. We didn't have access to it," Levin said, describing how the account temporarily disappeared from public view.

The disruption initially lasted roughly 90 minutes. Although the page subsequently reappeared, its administrators reportedly remained unable to publish updates or manage the account for several more hours.

For an organization coordinating demonstrations in dozens of major cities and hundreds of smaller communities, the loss of access was particularly disruptive.

I noticed the lack of Peoria coverage and was disappointed. Should have shown both Bloomington and Peoria since that is advertised as their market.

mypeez :
On weekends, many news outlets have only 1 reporter out covering stories. We try to include Bloomington if possible. Might be why No Kings there was chosen. Plus, we've covered No Kings in Peoria last 2 times it's been held.
Had nothing to do with Ellison and CBS.
