Stormy Thursday Anyone get caught in the terrible winds or downpours anywhere? Especially if you happened to be in Twin Cities?
I got lucky, as I was in Bloomington for a couple stories around 10 am (shift started at 6:30 am at Manual High School) I got back to Peoria just as it started to get really dark and lightning.
Rest of shift was inside editing. But then other photographer and a reporter got dispatched to Bloomington due to storm damage reports. Lots of damage. A tall Schnucks sign got blown down. Lots of flash flooding on streets, trees down.

My Springfield Son in law was caught in this while in Bloomington for client work. He didn't get flooded out, but somehow got a scrape above his back bumper. Daughter said he parked in a parking lot for an hour to wait it out.

According to my rain gauge, we had over 5 inches yesterday and last night.

This is the rainiest August I ever remember having, especially in a row, in my life. Really missing the sun, honestly.

I had another 3.5 inches in my rain gauge. That's nearly 9 inches in 48 hours.
