Sorry to hear about the electricity going out. We had that problem couple weeks ago. Branch fell on power wires nice and loud booms with such pretty color sparks. Such good timing while it was raining.

@Jessie67
The night ours went out, all the neighbors were out on their porches, got to actually talk to them and not just a wave and smile.

Fire up the generator and the neighbors come crawling out of the woodwork.

@kraziebill Sadly I have refused my husband to buy a generator just yet. Maybe I should reconsider?

I have one but would be SO afraid to start it in power out would have EVERY banger in area trying to steal it. THat's why built my mini charge stations and have solar panel from harbor freight.

@EyeintheSky It is the price of the one my husband wants. Not afraid of anyone stealing anything. Love the idea of mini solar station, want my husband to do that actually to run a heating a cooling unit like they have in hotels.

@Jessie67 to run one of those off solar, you would need a pretty big setup with some large battery capacity...

After we lost a freezer and refrigerator worth of food, the cost to replace all the food was about 50 bucks less than the cost of a generator. Sadly the generator sat for about 15 months before the next power outage...but that one lasted about 45 hours. Now the generator subject is not an issue in our house. Emoticon

@kraziebill Thanks for the info, should do some more research though before he is let loose to buy a generator.
