The Conventions

Why do you watch them? Do you think they will sway your vote? Do you think the nominees will have something new to say? Entertainment value? Help you confirm you are voting for the "correct" candidate?

I don't watch them. Just telling each other and the world how great they think they are and how great they will be for us with a bunch of rhetoric.

I couldn't agree more! But, I did watch, just because I wanted to hear the vote count for each state. Very disappointed in the representative from CO.

I am a political junkie so I always watch both. The Republican convention isnt as much of 'Trump is great' and more of 'Hillary is the devil'.

don't bother with them since learning how electoral college works NO point my vote is useless. sticking with local level votes since they really do count them and this effects me everyday in some way or another.

It's like to going to a pep rally for your high school

BTW, Leslie is far more rational than I. I would rather sit in the bowels of a prison for four days or watch a Cubs game than watch the DNC convention.

Last nights RNC theme was supposed to be Make America Work again, but I don' t think any of the speakers said anything that would make that happen.

I'll watch if there's someone really interesting speaking. Like when JFK Jr. spoke back in '88. And I think that was the same year they had Texas Governor Ann Richards up there ripping into Bush Sr. Now THAT was an entertaining speech! That was a fun year to watch, even though I'm Independent.
