If a security alarm goes off but no-one responds, what are they securing?

This happened on Park District property. Assuming it was the park police who were supposed to respond, what kind of intergovernmental agreement would they have with the Peoria police so this doesn't happen in the future? I've always thought the park police were stretched pretty thin for as much and as widespread as their properties are.

While camera and videos are the flocking different today. Kind of hard to get by with most things cams all over leading to property. Now, with the timing of the incident, whose phone was present at that location. Oh them new watches listen to everything.

@PeoriaIllinoisan : Cameras capture so much these days-doorbell cams, security cams, car cams, police cams, and more. It seems endless, and it makes you wonder where it all stops.
Your phone or the new smartwatch at the time of the incident could confirm your presence at the location.

While there may not be cameras on this property. Plenty of elsewhere that lead to and from. Do you realize that your phone will show everywhere you been. You know text while driving they can tell by phone records.

@tntrecycling : Alarm hears everything. Click the mouse. Same with them self checkouts now. No cashier but somehow they know when you rang organic bananas as regular. Phone, watch, car cams leading to and from. False alarm until it's serious, then costly investigation. Oh them new alarms flocking different today.

Yes, data all being stored........ sending officers compared to reviewing video. Which would be cheaper.

@collar : I gave up and I'm the one who started the thread. The jist of it was the park district police can't even respond to their own calls. Shouldn't there be backup from the Peoria police, or are they too busy too? If no-one can respond, then what's the point of having an alarm system - with no video to boot!
