This is sad. I think anyone who files false or highly questionable police reports needs to see jail time.

Unfortunately Swatting happens at a local level too. Knox County got 2 calls that caused confusion in a rural area near Dahinda. At first, scanner report was a guy had shot 3 members of his family with an AR-15. Then heard Life flight was being sent out. I got to the site, with many EMT units, but only couple police units. Wasn't allowed to shoot anything close, because of the copter coming. And no information. I got the copter landing, 1/4 mile down the road. Stayed in contact with newsroom. Found out it was a Swatting call...but also a suicide or suicide attempt.
 
Incidents like suicides don't usually get reported obviously.
