Corrupt Politicians

Let's keep in mind a few things:
The only POTUS and VPOTUS to resign while in office were Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew.
Both were Republicans.
George Santos, House Republican, expelled in 2023.
Illinois has had its share of corrupt officials.
Former Governor George Ryan convicted 2006 of racketeering and conspiracy. Also a Republican.
This list could go on, but on the flip side:
Secretary of State Paul Powell, whose estate found 800k in cash stuffed in shoeboxes in various locations after his death. He was also accused of getting kickbacks on state contracts. A Democrat.
Rod Blagoyevich, convicted of trying to sell Obama's Senate seat after Obama's election as POTUS. (Actually, you don't know how many IL Democrats REJOICED when he was arrested!)
Dan Walker, former Democratic Governor, convicted of bank fraud, but happened 10 years after his term ended.
Michael Madigan, former IL House Speaker. We know his story, it's more recent.
I'll stop there, we could fill this thread with all kinds of corrupt politicians, on both sides of the aisle.

But the obvious appearance of corruption going on in DC is maddening. You can't tell me the GOP wouldn't have heads exploding and all kinds of impeachment filings if Obama or Biden put their face or name around Washington, started tearing down the East Wing without cooperating with Congress or government oversight, ruled 90% of the time with Executive Orders, and appointed only people who declared absolute loyalty to them instead of the Constitution. Oh, and decided to market and sell items while President with his name on them.
