It goes straight to comments when I click on it.

@AverageSue : I support that bill. More than meal can be made from that chicken! I also approve the passing of the funding bill that does not fund ICE and border patrol. That will be a separate discussion and vote.
I tend to support not allowing soda and candy be bought with SNAP.
Yes, there's a push for welfare and SNAP users to buy healthier food, but healthier food is also more expensive. Hard to stretch those dollars to begin with.
Steak and lobster? Well, then they run out of food dollars more quickly. And maybe those items are used sparingly, for more than one meal. (I actually doubt that many SNAP recipients actually buy steak and lobster, it's just another talking point)
My opinion and mine alone and no one else.

@DennisinPeoria :
I don't think we should regulate what foods they buy regardless of what it is. I have a friend on SNAP and he uses that to buy food-related gifts at Christmas time. If he couldn't do that, he wouldn't be able to buy anything. His disability benefits is there than snap doesn't even cover his rent. He's been selling stuff he and his family had collected for years.

I'm not aware of any Supplemental Junk Food Assistance Programs. And there probably is a reason for that. Somehow, my sisters and I didn't starve because we didn't have soda, candy, chips, and processed foods. I do agree with Dennis that sometimes eating better does cost more. I also see parents giving in and giving kids the food they want just to shut them up.
