I now live in Dallas-Fort Worth and I live about 7 miles from the main antenna farm, so I just use a small flat antenna in my closet. I get about 86 channels.Anyways, I just looked and 68-4 is Defy here. American Pickers is on right now. 68-5 is Scripps News and they have news programming on as I'm typing. I hope this helps!

Except for watching Cubs on Marquee, Wife watches "Castle" reruns on Lifetime; and various movies on Freeform, everything else for us is local broadcast outlets. We have a Roku stick, subscribe to Disney Plus, but don't watch it that often. I'm into the Marvel and Star Wars content, but she isn't, calling it junk. So my TV time alone is rare. Hard to get her to open her mind to other good streaming content.

Over 9000 channels and 35000 movies, I still find times I can't decide what to watch.

I watch TV very infrequently, and when I do, it's usually a TV show or movie I have on DVD/Bluray. Most of broadcast (and cable) television is a waste, sadly. Scripted series are at an all-time low. The amount of commercial time is through the roof with some stations being nearly 24/7 infomercials. We effectively have two companies controlling all the local commercial TV programming and news in Peoria. So the days of broadcasting being in the public's interest and offering viewpoint diversity are long gone. I recommend reading books instead.

I rarely watch TV. If I do I end up binge watching something on Netflix/Hulu/Prime.

Only PBS, if I do switch to broadcast TV. There might be things I would like to watch but cannot freely stream.I stubbornly refuse to create a 'World Passport' account. I used to donate to PBS... but when they created the World Passport, I stopped. I donated anonymously so that anyone could watch PBS ... anonymously at home without additional cost to themselves. The World Passport defies that principle. No one should have to create an account, giving up their identity, privacy, or have their viewing tracked, or pay an additional cost, to stream PBS content. It should be free for anyone and everyone to use, just as if they watched it from over the air. All of this predates WTVPs recent troubles.In contrast, I donate to WCBU... I can listen to it over the air... or I can stream the entirety of the station's or NPRs content for no additional cost. No login required.

Reality shows have ruined broadcast tv.

@conrad : I'm kind of with Mahkno on this one. Why shouldn't Passport be available to all just like the channel itself? Why should public television have a paid tier? Putting content behind a paywall seems antithetical to the purpose of public broadcasting. The Public Broadcasting Act of 1967 stated, "it is in the public interest for the Federal Government to ensure that all citizens of the United States have access to public telecommunications services through all appropriate available telecommunications distribution technologies," and a paid tier restricts that access to those least able to afford it.

I would not object to that at all. I'm gonna donate anyway. I don't need to be bribed with Passport. I'm open to that access and would join Mr. Chronicle and Mr. Mahkno in asking for it.

@PeoriaChronicle : The idea of Passport doesn't bother me. I seldom use it as I don't stream on the TV. I have binge watched Ken Burns Country Music series and Finding Your Roots on the monitor but that is about it. Passport is not why I donate.

I don't use it either, but we're both older. I think younger people primarily watch stuff via streaming and not so much over the air like we do, which is why I think it makes more sense to make PBS content available to them for free.

Outside of the news and sports, almost everything we watch is on demand with one notable exception: THE CURSE OF OAK ISLAND.Could it be??I'm glad I could give you all a chuckle. Carry on now. Go on, git!
