@bgbird68 : Sankoty is mired in lawsuits.... seems all was not clear with the prior owner when it was sold to KDB.

@Mahkno : I thought I read that KDB was trying to screw the sellers out of an agreed upon 1/3 ownership?

@Mahkno : Really, I hadn't heard that but understood the contractor that used to own that gravel pit lost his @ss on a real estate deal down in the Ozarks which bankrupted him.

@bgbird68: makes me wonder as Chef Josh Lanning, who runs the Woolly Bugger restaurant at San Koty has been doing a lot of guest Chef and freelance work around the area. While it may be closed for the off season, you think the guy would be salaried.

"The Scottish Rite Theatre and Betty Jayne Brimmer Center for the Performing Arts will be shutting down effective Jan. 15. [...] Social media pages for both venues were inaccessible as of Wednesday afternoon. All shows and events planned at the venues after Jan. 15 were removed from the KDB Group's website."

The city couldn't possibly let the Scottish Rite, after all the renovations done to it, close down again, could they? :cough cough:

Makes you wonder what he plans to do with the old Pabst building. Why do I seriously doubt the hotel and lofts in Peoria Heights don't happen?

He owns the Sav-a-Lot building in the Heights. They have about 3 more years on the lease. He wants to put a more "high end" grocery store there. Wonder what happens? Hope he sells it to Sav-a-lot.

Does this mean he won't be building a park over I-74?

Heard in a round about fashion... that KDB has **** off a lot of people in the Heights. He overpaid for some properties, which steeply drove up prices and taxes. The whole Samuel street project is dead now. Between inflation, interest rates, and a sharp surge in property values and taxes... the Kim Group is struggling to sell the condos they were sort of forced to build.

$200,000 for a 650 sqft condo!?!?!?!
