Good Ol' Caterpillar
I worked at Cat for 36 years retiring 9 years ago. They sent me a calendar every year for a few years then stopped. I didn't really care, I'm not interested in their product line. Yesterday I got a postcard offering me a calendar for 2022. All I had to do, was go online and send a request. What they didn't say in the postcard is that there's a $12.50 P&H fee. I guess I won't have a Cat calendar again this year. I bought a really cool Far Side calendar from Amazon for less than that.

My friends laugh at me because I still use one and write appointments, etc. on them. "Just do it on your phone". Well, I do, but I like that visual of what is coming up like birthdays, etc. instead of searching for them on my phone. Yeah, you can set reminders, etc., but by the time I do that. I've got it written down.

Lots and lots of studies and research shows that if something is written down such as appointments, notes, shopping lists etc .you stand a much, much, much better chance of remembering things if you don't have access to your phone etc. when you need it. It is amazing the number of people who seem to forget their phone or lose it or haven't charged it when they need it in a store or wherever because of the notes they have on it.

Appointments. That's why so many people like the Cat calendar. It always has enough room on each day for appointments. I can get free ones from anyplace almost. But we write all appointments on a wall calendar, so we want one that's also pleasant to look at. Not an advertisement. I can get all kinds of calendars for a couple bucks apiece.

The irony is that I work for Caterpillar, get a free calendar every year and just give it to my parents, who actually use it!

We get free calendars from CEFCU every year. Not only do they have great pictures each month, but have decent size spaces to write in. Not that we actually do that anymore.

I paid $1.00 for my big grid calendar where things get written down. It hangs near the computer where I can always see it. By the end of the year, I can look at my life in review! Picked up a nice freebee at Carter Paper and another at CEFCU. Since most things at Dollar Tree have gone to $1.25, my favorite calendar will cost me a little more next year. Emoticon

@skutfarcus : Hard sell for the dedication of 36 years. These should be a giveaway item. To draw consumers, those days are gone.
