I got a letter from Itv that they were coming to my little area of Peoria soon. But..... I have friends in Morton who have it. They all said about the same thing...the first 3-4 months they had a lot of problems but eventually it got all worked out and they love it.

I still have ol' ATT DSL. I've used all three of my internet devices at once with no problem and I have a decent price. I rarely have issues. Depending on the price, maybe I'll switch, but why mess with a good thing.

I was lucky to be one of the first homes to test/pilot comcast internet when it came to Peoria. We had to sign a 12 month agreement which included them parking a trailer in my drive for 2 months and some special equipment in my house. During that 12 months, it was down more than it was up. I think we only ended up paying for 3 months worth of service.

Now, I wouldn't think of switching. I think the last time it went down was the ice storm several years ago when we were without power for 14 hours.

However, I don't "rent" their equipment. I bought my own. Paid for itself in just 20 months and that was 6 years ago. So there's $500 saved right there. Emoticon

@kraziebill : HA! Yeah, I know it would lose a race against the pony express most days, but like you said, it fits my needs. I've had people say "Doesn't your Netflix, etc. freeze, buffer or re-load alot"? No, it doesn't. I can watch Netflix, be on my laptop and phone and have no issues. And it's $40 a month. And since it is faster than what I have at work, I'll never know it isn't running at the speed of light Emoticon

Do you have a choice? I thought ITV and Comcast were city specific franchise operations? We have Comcast's Xfinity triple play package, 150Mb internet. Netflix on their box is buggy, but direct Roku operations w/ Netflix are flawless. That being said, their DVR app is working over the digital coax and the Roku is over a hardwired CAT 6 connection. I know both are fed from the same single coax feed to the house and split. I think streaming via their setbox doesn't count against my monthly 1Tb limit.

I'd be interested in switching to ITV 3 from Comcast.. Although we have very few issues with Comcast, maybe it would be cheaper for ITV3. Problem is, doubt they would ever come to MH.

@JnJ : Locally, we have MTCO and Comcast as choices. MTCO has a 1Gigabit top speed but a 500Gb/mo up/down cap. Comcast's Xfinity has a 1Tb monthly cap with our package's speed at 150Mb. I personally like Xfinity's equipment better, but I'm partial to full size stereo components. I think most people are very happy with MTCO's offering. I wired our house for either service. I think ITV vs Comcast is like DirecTV vs Dish.

ITV (I3 now, actually) for internet, Dish for Video. ITV is just better, faster internet, but their video is hit or miss. Dish is the least expensive of the big 3 cable companies,and has the best choices for DVR and mobile applications

We use Comcast. Yes, the cost is a little higher, but, we enjoy our various sports programs we follow, movies, and more without issues.

@pictureme1 :

Concast has greatly improved their customer service the last several years. Really only once have we had an issue of sorts. It went out during a very severe thunderstorm. They immediately realized it and contacted us by email, text and phone call telling us and how long they expected the outage.
Turned out the problem was fixed sooner and we were contacted again when it was up and running.
