Depends on what you want to do with it.

Personally, I'd go with the iPad for ease of use. But, truthfully, we don't use ours around here very much.

She has a ipad, it's 4 years old with a cracked screen. She just watches videos and silly yugi yo? stuff, and always uses wifi here at home. I have at&t for our phone service.

As far as ease of use.....my new iphone7 is more complicated to figure out than my S7edge, for this old fart anyway.

I have Acer Icoina tablet 7 inch screen would suggest 8 meg or better or ram and rom. Most claim can do more but OS is so locked down won't even see extra card let alone use it. For what you are talking ANY of the 7 inch should work for about a year maybe 2 they are not built tough at all. Get a case with flip cover can double as a stand.

I have Google's Pixel C tablet, with the folio keyboard it will run you about $650 - store.google.com/pro duct/pixel_c

I'm not normally much of a tablet person at all, but it is a beautiful piece of machinery. However, keep in mind that I'm very much a Google fanboy. I also have a Google phone, a Chromecast, and I'm currently working on automating my whole apartment with smart lights using voice-activation with Google Home (competitor to Amazon's Alexa).

I've had a 2 Kindle Fires and 3 iPads. I prefer the iPad and the Kindle Fires ended up at my workplace so people could use them. To be honest, I really don't use my compute that much at home, I can pretty much do everything on my iPad. I did buy a holder with a keypad so I can type in Word, Pages and the Internet with ease. I cannot see myself with out an iPad!

I have the iPad and bought a Remote Desktop access app so I can dial into my work computer. There are some frustrations with it, but if I only need to pop on for a short bit, it's perfect.

I have an iPad Pro, with the keyboard. I am happy with it for what I do. The pen thing works with it too.
