There are a ba-jillion members on this site. How in the world do you even know the contributions they make to society? I'm being serious.

They don't. Like every contest, it's a politically correct popularity contest. I vote for Tazewell. At least he stands up and says it like it is.

I know there are many who contribute to their neighborhoods, their whole community and to the lives of others. They do it quietly and without fanfare. Whether it is EyeintheSky being grumpy while still watching out for his neighbors and cleaning their sidewalks or tntrecycling picking up without charge. I just make more noise about what I do, partially to show the need and encourage others to get involved. We are each "person of the year" in our realm of influence!
