I can't wait for the drone show!

I order a couple receivers this morning to be able to track them. I'll be curious to see how and where they are used.

It's only 2 dozen drones. Rest of it is for over 200 body cams, cameras for interview rooms, 91 in-car cams, and 253 tasers. Over a 5 year period.
Plus, one of the drones assigned to downtown will have a life preserve attached for water rescues. That alone saves a ton of time for responders to get to riverfront, get on boat, and motor out to the person in distress. I have seen these drones in action when the PD was trying it out. Very impressive. They will help police and fire see and understand what's going on at a crime or fire scene before they get there.

"We will also receive new technologies from Axon to include live translation through the body-worn cameras. Officers utilizing this feature will instantly be able to communicate with individuals even when there is a language barrier. "This will be a nice feature as well....

This will be the new 4th celebrations. less cost and without major fire concerns.

Speaking of drones, Amazon is shipping to the south side of Chicago via drone. $5 gets you your package in 20 minutes. (source: NBC5 Chicago)
