Time for Winter Roundball
Time for Winter Roundball
Time for Winter Roundball College football is going strong, NFL almost halfway over, NHL has started, and we haven't even had the 1st World Series baseball game yet. So what to do my last day of vacation?
Go to a ISU Mens college basketball game. Exhibition match between Redbirds and Northwestern Illinois, a Big 10 caliber team. NW held lead most of the game, but ISU pushed on in last 10 minutes, and beat them 70-64. Lots of physical action as both teams would scramble to the floor like after a football fumble, but NW made a lot of turnovers. ISU FG % improved over time, while NW kept missing free throws. One ISU player is a portal transfer from Bradley, while Springfield my son-in-law noticed one of NW big guys played for Drake last year. He attended Braves Scrimmage yesterday, so my daughter wanted everyone for today's game.
Overall, a good game, enjoyed it with grandsons.
I'll be looking to attend a Bradley non-conference game soon.
