Election 2026 V.2 It seems the Republicans don't have enough to mudsling the Democratic candidates this year since they controlled the WH and Congress.
That's why instead of labeling the Left as Antifacists, Socialists or Democratic Socialists, the President is now pushing the "Communist" label on them. I don't think he realizes that no Democrat belongs to the Communist Party. Here's what famous journalist Edward R. Murrow said about Communists in his day:

This doesn't necessarily apply to this year's election, but it does have a valid point. My opinion and mine alone and no one else.

Madison County Board Chairman Chris Slusser's social media post calling for Dr. Anthony Fauci's "public hanging" caused a great deal of discussion, and Slusser responded to the backlash on his campaign Facebook page on Friday. Slusser's Friday response claims that his original comment was not intended to be taken literally and calls it "obvious rhetorical hyperbole." On Thursday, The Telegraph published an article about Slusser's comment - made from his personal Facebook account on another individual's Facebook post. Slusser's statement Friday calls The Telegraph's article on his comments "absurd." Slusser's statement provides no evidence for why the article was absurd. The original social media post by Slusser was made about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, saying Fauci "should receive a public hanging." The comment was on a post by Jim Barzee, who lists Hartford, Illinois, as his residence and self-identifies as a photographer and retiree. Barzee's post only said "111 times," referring to the number of times Fauci invoked his right to remain silent during a Congressional hearing. As of Friday morning, the original thread had been removed. Barzee confirmed he took down the original post. In an attempt to defend his words, Slusser's statement on Friday said, "I honestly can't believe this has become a story. Anyone with common sense knows the remark wasn't a literal call for public execution. It was obvious rhetorical hyperbole - the kind of exaggerated language people use every day. It was a call for more public scrutiny." Slusser did not explain what "public scrutiny" would be achieved by the public hanging of Dr. Anthony Fauci. The statement from Slusser on Friday continued, "If certain people are going to be offended by every figure of speech, they'll never stop being offended. I would invite people to do a simple Google search for: 'examples of the phrase public hanging used as hyperbole' and see what you find."
