Roadside America Amongst the seemingly hundreds of Wall Drugs billboards (tourist trap that no-one can avoid) here in South Dakota, this little thing grabbed my attention. A replica Stonehenge made of fire trucks. Go figure. It's certainly odd enough for a drive by and quick photo!

I got stuck overnight in Wall. Never went to the drug store. The hotel had free ice water too.

Wall Drug might be the biggest tour trap,..... EVER!

Wall Drug might be a tourist trap, but when we took our daughters on a trip to Mt. Rushmore in 2001, we enjoyed walking through it, getting that free drink of water before heading out. Don't remember if we bought anything there. On the way back from Mt. Rushmore, we stopped at the Corn Palace. Definitely a neat place to visit!* This is a General chat discussion.

That wasn't supposed to be fast lane. #msg1946033
I did a drive-by but it was takes up two square blocks. Think Goods Furniture with mobile homes and motorcycles in the parking lot.

The Wall Food Center is more my pace.

I also had the chance to check these two places out. They were both fascinating in their own rights.

We never visited the Badlands in 2001. And I don't recall visiting there when I went with parents in 1968 to Mt. Rushmore on our way to Yellowstone. However, while out there in 2001, we also went to the Crazy Horse Memorial, which when finished will be a bigger carving than Rushmore. Carver State Park was interesting because as you drive through, you see donkeys and buffalo right next to the road. (At least it was like that in 2001)

We made a lot of those same stops in 2017 including Wall Drug, the Minuteman Missile, Badlands, and more. I'm guessing Firehenge is new since then because we surely would have checked it out. We love some good roadside attractions.
