Position Desired: At Teacher

Cover Letter:
I am a lifelong Peoria who went to Richwoods High School. I had a few jobs after high school and went to ICC in E.Peoria IL as a part time student while my son was very young. This became a very unfulfilling time in my life and so I decided to go back to school full time in 1989 to ICC and pursue a career. I graduated from ICC in 1991 with an associates degree in primary and secondary education. While attending college at ISU, I discovered how much I loved the fine arts. I decided to major in Art Education and earned my Bachelors Degree in 1995 with an Art Education major and focusing in drawing, painting and printmaking.
Throughout the years I have had several teaching positions teaching art to children, adults and seniors and also children with special needs. I have taught in nursing homes, to emotionally and mentally challenged adults at Zeller Mental Health Facility before they were shut down by the state and at the YWCA at Lakeview. I also volunteered at Pleasant Vally Grade School and taught art classes to 4th and 5th graders while I was still in college. I would love to be able to find a job teaching art to children and /or adults again at this time in my life.
Throughout the past 10 years my work history has included some factory work at Bemis Bag Company. I worked there from 2000 to 2006 when the plant shut down. I have waitressed at several local restaurants and also have done housekeeping in residential homes, businesses and Proctor Hospital. I am not a stranger to physically hard work but I would like to be able to go back to working with children and adults and use the artistic gifts I have been given by God to pursue future employment.
