I was recently awarded a Master of Arts degree in clinical psychology counseling practice from Roosevelt University. I am currently in the process of obtaining my LPC license. I am interested in a full-time position in the mental health field. I have been exposed to adults with mental illnesses while on my practicum, volunteering at a homeless shelter, and have experience with adults with disabilities through my work at the Office of Disability Services and at the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association.

I have gained many beneficial skills through working with adults with disabilities and mental illnesses that will assist me in any position in this field. I have learned how to take control of spontaneous situations and rely on my quick decision making skills. I have a wide range of experiences from psychosocial rehabilitation groups and individual therapy services to adult outpatient therapy services, as well as treatment planning and updating mental health assessments. I have learned how to complete paperwork associated with counseling services while on practicum. I have also learned many beneficial skills in regards to providing psychotherapy and how to help a wide variety of clients. I have gained many positive skills because of my supervisors and the training I have received thus far. I am not afraid to ask questions or ask for advice on how to act in difficult situations, so that in the future, I know how to approach similar circumstances on my own. These are just a few of the many skills I have gained that can benefit me at any mental health facility.

I think I would be a good fit to any mental health facility due to my experience in the field, my ability to work well with others, and my ability to effectively help others in times of need.
