Mike McCoy to make 120 as Washington police chief? Is this overkill or about right?

It seems a little bit on the high side.

I don't know how accurate the information is but I looked at several salary web sites and it shows several cities in Illinois pay their chiefs right around $100K; varying between $90k and $110K.

He was making 133k as sheriff, so he's taking a cut in pay.

I'll say hi to him for all of you Monday night at his 1st Washington City Council meeting that I'm shooting for East Side Community Media. (Subbing for usual video guy) I met him a few times while working at PCCEO.

He's either eyebrow deep in debt or as is with most Leo, the egotistical psychopath can't quit.

@DennisinPeoria He is retiring from his current job with 75% of his salary which
comes to $97,500. Along with his $120,000 salary the Washington police chief contract with McCoy include five weeks vacation and 12 days sick leave per year, a full-size sport utility vehicle of McCoy’s choice for business and personal use ($90,000), and allowances for uniforms ($1,000 per year) and moving expenses (one-time $3,000 payment). Plus I heard a signing bonus of $20,000. Wow, that's a pay cut most of us would love. This has got to be the biggest crime to happen in the city of Washington.
@VonsterPeo The Peoria Police Chief makes $154,802, the Pekin Police Chief makes $112,633.

Wonder if he'll make Washington pay for all his "St Jude" expenses like he did Peoria.

and if that's not enough, I'd be willing to bet good money one of his relatives becomes the new Peoria County Sheriff.

McCoy include five weeks vacation

Woah hah hah!!!! 5 weeks vacation??? Okay let's hypothetically figure this: Let's say 2 weeks at Christmas/New Year's.

One week this week, July the 4th.

I think I'm being generous. Somebody tell me what I'm missing, because hey, there's so much crime in Washington!!!!

My husband, who works for a very, very large company, gets 3 weeks vacation a year. Next year he gets 4.
