For all you read or hear about the East Bluff, this post was made on our neighborhood FB page by one of neighbors and shows the real East Bluff! It was posted earlier today! There is a lot more of this than what normally makes the news. This is why I love the East Bluff! I am glad she posted it.
"So the young girl who stays between relatives homes and I posted about before, shows up on my porch while I was outside today. She said she missed me, asked for a hug and if I had time to talk. Of course I do. After about 30 min, she asked if she could do dishes, take out garbage, make our beds...whatever so she could walk to McDonald's to get something to eat. I asked her a question and told her she didn't have to answer if she wasn't comfortable. I asked when was the last time you ate? She told me Tuesday at school.
I fed her breakfast.
She simply said "thank you, miss K. I always know I can count on you".
Just be kind and understanding.
These kids are dealing with a lot more than we ever had to at their age, or for that matter, even at our age now.
Simple words, simple actions. It should be effortless."
