Opinions on Pekin Police Officer?

Anyone in support of the police officer slapping the juvenile delinquent? I understand what made him do it but losing your temper and physically lashing out shouldn't be allowed at any job. I'm sure there are social workers who are treated the same as well as teachers. Should they be slapping kids too? What if the slap causes a broken nose that requires medical care? Still okay? Allowing corporal punishment is a slippery slope.

Forgot to add since he was wearing a gun charges should be added just like it would to a CCW person doing same thing.

Setting a very, very bad example by allowing people in authority to slap someone. A number of years ago there was an incident in Chicago of a lawyer slapping his client. He almost got disbarred. He was forced to go to anger management, therapy and was monitored quite closely.

@EyeintheSky :

What, if a concealed carry person assaults someone they get extra charges?? Also the prisoner was both handcuffed and chained at the legs so hitting a restrained person should be a higher charge. I just couldn't believe the number of supporters on facebook when they posted this article, do people really want the police to have the right to hit prisoners for calling them names?

CCW person would get extra charges if they had weapon at the time. The cop should be behind bars and NEVER allowed again if he can't handle some name calling he is in WRONG line of work. There should be added charges since person was unable to defend themselves. Like to know what he called him and make sure it gets chanted at the cops trial would be worth the contempt charge to even say it in court room.

Police Officers should not be slapping anyone, particularly someone already in handcuffs.

This is why I am not a police officer. I would be slapping and probably shooting stupid people. I do not have enough restraint to be a police officer.

Get rid of the whole bunch. They're all crooked as snakes and that's not news. Hope the kid has the right lawyer, college on Pekin.
