What was there before or maybe what was there before that too! Lots of places seem to come and go around Mossville.

I had to read that twice to be sure I read it correctly--lol That location is jinxed.

That location was good for Fried Chicken and Catfish.

Speaking of new restaurant, old location, Shogun (formerly River 1000, etc.) has some fancy new outside lighting I noticed this morning. Need to track down Raymond and find out when he is opening. Also, Mickie's Pizza is going to open in the old EP Time Out building (kinda at the intersection of Rt. 150 and Rt. 8 in East Peoria).

Glad to see that something is going into the old Sazanis..also happy to see Mickie's is coming back to East Peoria..just about the only pizza we liked

It sounds like Sonny Asani who owns Sazani's is going to open it again. I think it was called Sonny's Steak & Pasta once before.

@bwiser :This is almost getting comical. I think by now this place has too much of a restaurant curse on it and nothing is going to work. Plus most people are just going to say "Oh how long will this one be around" and not even go. Is this the same Sazani's who didn't honor a bunch of reservations and gift cards when they closed the first time?? Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

Sapphire killed themselves with bad service. A place with good food, good service and a commitment to a good customer experience will do well. King's was a great example of success at that location.

Location is not the best. So you have to drive to get there food and service should be outstanding. Kings was well known for there food plus the bar.

@tntrecycling : Agreed. That place can be a busy destination if folks feel the drive is worthwhile.

But if people didn't feel that way about Sazani's then why are they going to feel that way about Sazani's II?

We loved Sazani's...and drove to it at least once a month...then started going to one in Pekin cause it was much closer...they always seem to have a good crowd..line out the door on special occasions.

Sazanis was great. Sapphire was awful.

@conrad :But they still went out of business so it was either the food, the location or the management that people didn't like and since it seems to be opening as the same thing in the same place, does anyone think the 2nd time is the charm??
