Golden Voice Recording Company, South Pekin. I found a cool blog about Golden Voice. Lots of bands recorded there over the years before it burnt down. I'm sure everyone has heard "Never Been Any Reason" by Head East, which was recorded there in the 70's. There's lots of great entries on the Golden Voice blog with tons of embedded YouTube videos of songs that were recorded there. Interesting stuff!
I bought this Golden Voice 45 on eBay a few months ago for about $20 including shipping. It's a record by a Peoria group called the North Bridge Company. The address on the label was the drummer's house on Nowland. "Strange Land, Strange People" b/w "Crying All Alone". Apparently, "Crying All Alone" got a fair amount of airplay around here. I prefer "Strange Land, Strange People". It has a really cool Ray Manzarek-esque Vox organ/piano part that I really like.
