Kaine was first elected mayor of Richmond,VA which was a very strong republican city. It still is but there is a change going on there. From there he was elected Gov. & Senator. He did quite well in the Norfolk area which is very heavily Navy families. Meanwhile Arlington and Alexandria have become liberal and progressive. With Kaine it probably seals the deal for Hillary to carry VA and maybe NC. There is a battle over HB2 there that is ripping the GOP apart.
Kaine also speaks fluent Spanish and that will help tremendously for them in Florida and Arizona and maybe Texas. There is lots of upside to Kaine and no real downside. Let's remember the democrats win national elections when someone from a southern or border state is on the ticket.

All from border states. (California maybe not so much, but it does border Mexico).

Did anyone see him come out onstage with her today in Miami? He looks like a mutant ninja turtle -and their talking points are sooo recycled! They say the same things election cycle sfter election cycle and nothing changes. Surely the base will wake up to their all rhetoric no act agenda this time!

So Trump & Pence are going up against Kaine and Unable.

Neither of those men belonged to the political party before and switched to run for office. Why should the party have any loyalty to them?
