Political Discussion Guidelines
PDC'ers, please keep to these guidelines when discussing politics on the forums.
Although politics have been especially heated this year, I expect the discussions to not revert to name calling or being mean spirited to other members on here.
----------
Political Discussions:
Politics can be a difficult subject to discuss in mixed company on an online discussion board. Members are expected to try to keep things somewhat civil.
Some Important Guidelines if you want to discuss politics on PDC:
-- Absolutely no name calling when it comes to other forum members.
-- It's OK to say someone's opinion about XYZ is stupid, but please do not revert to calling other members stupid. It's the opinion of the moderator that this subtle change in discussing politics can have a big effect on the civility and productivity of political discussions online.
-- If you have a written strongly worded criticism, you should back it up with substantial reasoning and opinion.
-- These rules of civility apply to other forum members, and although we encourage members to keep things civil at all times, it is not a requirement to be so civil to politicans themselves, because they are not fellow forum members. So, calling Trump "stupid" is OK. Calling Clinton "stupid" is also OK.
--------
Very few people follow the above guidelines 100% of the time, and I'm not going to get on everyone's case every time they cross the line...but if I see it happening over and over, I'm going to call people on it.
