Ameren/Cilco...

is any one have an issue with their billing? my daughter has a small one bedroom apt. her bill for last month was $242.00!!

i have a house and mine was $158.00 and i about had a heart attack about mine!!

i asked her the same thing you are thinking- like - what was it set at? turning off lights etc..

she called ameren/cilco and they put her on a payment plan. $242.00 for a one bedroom apt is way to freakin high. something is wrong!

Is it gas and electric or just electric?

If both compare hers and yours and see the differences.

Also have her compare with other people in the building?

I don't pay much attention. It is as low as $80 a month in months like April and October and around $250 in the hot and cold months. I just send them $165 a month (or better known as RambleOn Pay) and call it a day. It averages out to a "free" month about every 18 months or so.

I can't take credit as I got the idea from @RambleOn. I went to Ameren's website, took an 18 month average plus 5%. I started in a low month like April so I'd start on the positive side.

I have participated in Ameren's LevelPay program for many years. They average your past bills and determine a leveled pay that you pay each month. If your usage starts to go up they increase what you pay. I think this program so I can do my monthly budget with no surprises on what my bill will be.

I have a ton of Facebook posts tonight about peoples Ameren bill...They said Ameren added a new pay hike and with the temps being so high, everyone's bills are outrageous ...haven't seen ours yet.

@ginaknows That is what bugs me about their level pay is that they do adjust it frequently which isn't level in my book. That is why I just send them the same amount every month. But to each their own Emoticon
