Too soon as in the month of May? The minute that thermometer creeps past 80, it's on no matter the month. I think we have ran it in April before.

Window unit stored in closet of spare bedroom. Hasn't been used in at least 5 years. Ceiling & window fans take care of things. There are a few days when I wish I had air conditioning, but those are rare and I survive them.

Turned ours on last night. I was just too hot to sleep upstairs.

Terri turned ours on in March. That is why i wrap myself in a down comforter and shiver at night.

Fans work great and Cilco get less money

I went to turn my AC on and realized that the unit wasn't working. Repair people came out and the unit needs to be replaced.

Turned it on at 6am, figured out it wasn't working, fixed by 11am.

Oh yeah. Turned it on yesterday and it said, "Let me play you the song of our people." And it has been singing and humming ever since.

I think I may ride it out a few more days as the basement is cool. I have slept on that couch many times (no, not due to a dispute with a S.O., just watching boring TV).
