I'm glad the court reacted the way they did to a "fashionable" law. Far more American are killed with illegally possessed handguns. If there was as much time spent trying to get the illegal handguns off the streets of Chicago (which just witnessed its worst January for "thug-like" gun violence) as we do trying to ban the highly publicized, but much rarer, "assault rifle" shootings, we might have something. Wish they would re-write some laws that would put some serious prison time to those caught with illegal weapons instead of two years probation. Maybe just the thought of spending the next 25 years behind bars with no parole might act as a deterrent.

@tntrecycling get all the illegal weapons off the streets for 5 years and I'll hand mine over. There is something I will never have to worry about.

@ChefKevin I would start if they let me. Riding 4 deep in a car would get pulled over. Everyone would start crying. Rights are being violated. Every house where ones sit on the front porch cars would be stopped when leaving. I see more officers driving around other than doing their job. The only thing would be more officers getting shot because of them doing their job.

@AV8R Yes but they didn't use a gun. Gun was made to dominate over some thing. Just like man always make it easier. Some without looking at the cost. Look at the loss of animals cause of the gun. Pleasure of killing.

Yes and yes I have killed. What we eat from stores has not been killed with guns. Lions, tigers, elephant, rhinos are at the brink of nonexistence because of guns.
