I love my Kindle for outside reading, my iPad for the bright light for nighttime reading but the feel of a good book in my hand is still my favorite.

I have a Kindle and will read on it sometimes, but my iPad is my favorite! I don't read outdoors all that much (okay, never), but even if I did, I think my iPad would be just as good as my Kindle Fire.

I agree 110% a book in the hand is the best! I can highlight and write notes in the margins very easily.

@jannn1959 Good to know the Kindle Fire would to be easy to read outside (at the pool for me).
Note to myelf to put on my Christmas want list.
Never feel I should take my beloved ipad to the pool!

I used to read on my Kindle Fire all the time until we got a puppy and the charger kept getting chewed up. I loved all the free books I was able to download!! And boy, is that "One-Click" shopping my downfall! HA!!

I like that I can also do Kindle reading on my Smartphone, but I'm finding I have to charge the battery more than once now. I just recently found the umpteenth new charger I bought for my Kindle since we got the dog, so now you two have inspired me to charge it up again!!!!

Oh, and one more thing: I love downloading the "samples" off the Amazon website. But then again, that's my downfall! I get suckered in, then have to resist the temptation when I finish the "sample" to download the entire book with the "One-Click"!

I'm starting to build a backbone, though!! HAHA!!!

I lied, I still have one more thing: If I find I really like a book on Kindle, I'll order a paperback copy because I'm building a library. Something in me says to just do it because I still don't trust that all the electronic stuff is going to be there on my Kindle all the time.

I guess I've just had too many times when I've lost stuff on our computers to trust that the books I've accumulated electronically are going to always be there. Call me crazy. That's just me.

Our local library system has a digital library that I use almost exclusively for my Nook. The section isn't THAT vast; I put stuff on hold a lot.
