@cjsummers Got my vote on that platform alone.

A parallel story, of sorts, is that anytime there is a city council vacancy, John Kelly submits his papers. He is also one of the first to get eliminated. John Kelly has been involved in a number of organizations for many years and is highly regarded. He works in the financial services sector downtown. So he has seen it all up close. A lot of people were hoping against hope tha he would run for mayor. It is all an interesting subplot and a very short version of a much longer story.

My guess is that she's the one who doesn't make it through the primary. I'm glad she is running though. I hope she makes a good showing in the next 6 weeks.

@cjsummers Her English could use improvement. Hopefully she revises some of her website.

I don't think this weird flip flopping on quitting the race story in the paper is going to help her chances. From her quotes, her speaking English could use some help too. "I feel that that small obstacle is really not worth, at this point, focusing on when the picture is much bigger in helping to bring solutions to Peoria," she said. "I feel like I can bring people together instead of apart. That's part of being a good leader is bringing people together and motivating and bringing them together to accomplish these goals."

I know I was tough on Beth Akeson on the Black Lives Matter issue, but I wish she would have run.

@Byron : She was tough on the mayor with a lot of things. Starting with blowing the lid off the secret stadium deal the city was planning between the park district, D150, and Walmart.What's-her-name who retired from running the Park District got caught with her hand in the cookie jar over that one.

@ChefKevin I do think Kennel has potential to competitively take on Mayor Ardis with improvement to her message. Does Ardis have a re-election website? What do Peorians like about him?
