AA Peoria man denied Health Care; Arrested, then dies in Peoria County Jail.

Now, we all know that ALL lives matter.

That being "said", how is it that when the bumb's rush won't run the brother off, he's arrested taken to the Peoria County Jail, to die, without receiving any medical attention.

All lives still matter, right.

Or is that another of those Wordsmith things?

without receiving any medical attention.

@TheOneStopHomeShop :

that statement runs contrary to official reports, which indicate he was questioned by medical personnel and refused to cooperate. Do you have a source for your allegation?

@AV8R kinda like when the cops show up to shooting with 50 people standing around and nobody saw nuthin. Medical people can't help if you won't tell them whats wrong with you.

Just personal experience

@TheOneStopHomeShop :

So you have experience in being refused treatment from the Hospital. Then being arrested and dying in the county jail.

Yet you can still come here and post Ghost writer.

Point of taken.

What we in the Hood do know is that initially around here, story is not always reported accurately.
Sadly, PJS readership down here is almost nonexistent. Only a couple copies are circulated to see who got arrested, among those without internet.

People are wondering if a guy lays on the floor in and hospital security has to kick him, to see if he's responsive; Do health care pros have to ask?

What happens is, they hint at the BILLS. Then ask if you want to proceed.

You are probably fortunate enough to have Obamacare.

Was he kicked? If so, how forcefully and where on his body? I'm assuming you know since you made the claim. In certain circumstances, there is a medically acceptable method of "kicking" a down subject to ascertain whether or not they are conscious. You make it sound like they used a jack-boot to break a few ribs. If in fact he was kicked at all, it was likely on the soles of his feet with very little force. There is a reason for that, which goes beyond the scope of this post.

As to whether or not "health care pros" have to ask, I would say yes, they do need to ask. People have a right to refuse medical treatment, and providing it against the patients wishes in some cases can wind up in a civil action against the provider. I believe people also have a right to know, and the provider a duty to inform the patient of the possible costs associated with treatment. I frequently ask my doctor if a procedure or drug is covered, and if there are any other options if not covered. That is not a function of whether or not I have medical insurance, because medical insurance does not cover everything or every option. People who accept personal responsibility for their lives typically perform some level of financial analysis when making decisions regarding their lives. At least those in my Hood do.

Here in my Hood the story is NEVER written accurately. If it even gets printed. And no one goes to the hospital unless absolutely necessary because they're notorious for botching everything. And covering it up, all the way to the janitor at the courthouse. And don't count on the local sheriff for help. Noooooooooooo.......

Yea...no way anyone in this chain of command would cover anything up.

And the local paper of record will get to the bottom of this. Unless it pisses the wrong people off.

Well I finally was able to access the PJS story about this and I have to agree something is VERY wrong, a man is dead for no reason and SOMEONE needs to be held accountable.
