Part of the original plan for the East Village Growth Cell included new lighting along the Wisconsin Corridor and facade improvements. We have the new lighting, a new bus stop at Kroger's and there are big changes coming to the vacant building at 1912 N. Wisconsin. I know there are nay-sayers, but some of us take pride in the changes. Homes are being repaired and improved both through the matching grants and homeowner investment. There is still a long way to go, but we are on the way!

I have heard other people talk about 1912 Wisconsin. Any idea what is going in there?

@billybob Plans are incomplete but I was told a variety of shops such as a coffee shop, barber, artist studio, restaurant, etc. This is coming about due to the success of the Lawn Order Academy. At one time, demolition and a Dollar General was talked about, but there was no agreement reached as to location of a new building on the land and where parking would be. Hoping to have more information in the near future, but some work has already started on the building.
