Friends who post their diets on Facebook

Does anyone else have "that person" on your Friend list who is doing "Shakeology" (or whatever it's called) or "Plexus", and every day they post their mug on your feed and blab about the "miracles" that are happening??

Yes, I know I can "unfollow", I just wondered if I was the only one seeing this stuff. Oh yeah, and the "seaweed wraps" you put on your body.

Hey, if it works for some people, more power to them!!

I just wonder, though, if people who use this stuff are pressured to post this stuff so they can sell it to others. Does anyone know?

Because I feel like I'm getting a sales pitch thrown at me. (Yes, I do keep scrolling.)

Rodan and Fields is what fills up my Facebook feed. Very annoying. I also have the Plexus, Posh, 31, LulaRoe, etc.

@QuispNQuake Why don't you ask your friends if they are part of a marketing pyramid? I had someone who was and I just stopped following her. Check her page now and then to see if anything else is going on in her life. She was upfront about it being a second income for she and her husband and that they were trying to build a business.

Yeah, it's all a MLM thing. Looked it up. It's just so hard for me, who digs "Lampoon Night", NOT to lampoon this stuff when I see it.

Except the time when the "Plexus" person posted this big, obnoxious picture of dead intestines, or something of the like, and said how this was what my insides looked like without Plexus.

Sure, you cut me open, dig out my insides and display it out in the open on a platter for everyone to see, I'm sure mine will end up looking like that too! HAHAHA!!

The Shakeology person keeps listing the ingredients in the "green shakes". It takes everything in me NOT to post this pic and say, "You know if I drank that stuff, I'd immediately sprout a top just like this pineapple!"

And these are people who grew up going to school with me. They know what a smart@$$ I am, and the chance they're taking by posting this stuff on my newsfeed.

I really do keep my mouth shut. But sometimes the urge to heckle gets overpowering. Just keeping it real.

I haven't seen that thankfully. Maybe my friends don't diet?

I haven't yet hit the button to share my exercise data on facebook. I use an app that tracks where I walked, how long I walked and how many calories that were burned. It does have the option to "post to facebook" that I would NEVER do. I don't want to advertise my walking routes on the net, that is crazy.

I do have a friend who is a thirty-one consultant, so I see her sales and parties frequently. I don't mind, I've even bought a few things from her.

@joepyeweed : You're lucky! HAHA! You know, it just occurred to me that my class has a BIG milestone reunion coming up next summer. (Don't ask how many years!)

Maybe this is why all this stuff is popping up.

I've never understood what compels people to want to share every detail of their lives on a world-wide stage.

@VonsterPeo : I'm going to totally get killed for saying this. But oh well. What else is new! My friend who is uber- "Shakeology" posts (is being forced to post?) a mugshot of herself EVERY STINKING DAY after one of her "workouts".

The post goes something like this: "Just finished my Country Workout!" (whatever that means) and her grinning mug is staring right at you. The comments are always from other Shakeology groupies saying stuff like, "You got this!", and "Way to work that upper core!". You know, stuff normal people wouldn't say???

The thing is, and here's where I'm going to get killed, the mug shots of her after her "workouts" look absolutely awful. Now, before anyone out there says, "Well, what do YOU look like after a workout Quisp??" Yeah, I look bad just like everyone else.

But these closeups are so bad that I feel embarrassed for her and wonder if I should send her a private message. Or just keep my mouth shut.

I think I'll just keep my mouth shut. We went to school together. I don't want to hurt her feelings.

Quisp, you can hide particular posts from users, like hide all posts from "Shakeology"... I certainly would....sounds awful.

Though this may be my personal opinion, but I look great after a work out. Have you ever noticed how sweat makes great hair gel and my skin has that nice flushed look - natural blush. LOL!

@joepyeweed : Yes, I believe it. It was kinda what I was getting at....

I have another high school friend on my feed who does "Shakeology". Except this one, in my opinion, has an eating disorder.

She posted a "bathroom selfie" (don't you just love those???) after about a six month period of time from her last profile pic, and I was completely shocked.

Everyone was all, "You look fantastic!", "WOW! You look GREAT", and so on, etc., etc....a deluge of compliments!!

Not me. I couldn't keep my mouth shut. I was the lone comment out of the 30 or so that said, "You look terrible. You look exactly like a skeleton! (She did.) Why isn't anyone on here telling you the truth?!"

She literally looked like skin stretched over bones, and I couldn't believe no one had the guts to tell her what she really looked like.

I said it completely out of concern because I was horrified at what I saw. I figured that if she was going to post a bathroom selfie (don't you just love those?) specifically to tell all of us about her weight loss, then I was going to give her an answer.
