Rhythm Kitchen for sale

I guess it is official: Shelley has the Rhythm Kitchen up for sale.

I know she has half heartedly done this before as she asked me. But props to Shelley. She's been doing this almost 20 years and was one of the first businesses down on the riverfront. She made it. Good for her.

So, all of you who whine your meal was too expensive, your service sucked, or you had to pay extra for an additional vat of Ranch dressing, here you go!

That is a bummer. Very unique menu. Whoever follows her up is gonna have a tough road to hoe.

Ones gets tired of keeping up. Its hard today making your business stand out.
That area is not really traveled by a lot of people. Advertising would play a major roll on keeping patrons.

@tntrecycling :

I don't know how many times you have been there in the last decade but it is PACKED every weekend and at weekday lunches. She has live, local musicians in every weekend and was doing the whole trendy "open kitchen" concept before anyone else in Peoria. There is nothing at all wrong with her business other than she is ready to retire. Whoever buys this is buying a thriving local business with a huge loyal crowd so how about this time around you keep your uninformed opinions to yourself.

I work downtown and I also frequent that area on the weekends so that is when I see her business. If there isn't anyone walking there at 6am-10am that has zero impact on her business.

I live and work here and yes frequent that area every day. So as far as knowing what is going on I am here.
Apparently your like the rest and did not read what I said.

Just because people walk in the door for her don't mean squat. The next person many not be able to compete.

Ours Also. If the new owners keep everything in place and humming along, they should be ok. I'm worried about someone changing the place up. It's a very special place in this town and I hope it stays as-is.

This is beyond distressing. Hopefully, the next owner will not try to fix something that is not broken.Unfortunately all too often that is the case.

I lived next to the Rhythm Kitchen for almost 2 years. I never ate there. Not my kind of menu. But I still liked the place and it's vibe. I would meet people there for drinks frequently.

I hope she finds a buyer that will put the same energy and passion into it.
