Cell phone manners are horrible many times. Went to eat at a restaurant and across from me sat a woman on her phone and four other people in her group. She chatted loudly the whole time I was there. I learned about her dog, what she ate that morning, when her next doctor appointment was, how the dining room painting was coming along, and how little Bud is doing in his first year of high school. If I had been one of the others in her group, I would have excused myself and left. If you don't have time for your other guests, I would consider myself not that important to you.
It is also annoying to other people sitting around you.

Yes, I have "listened" to many conversations like this; not that I wanted to, they were just that loud.

From a restaurant side of things, this is the exact type of person who will hold up a "one moment" finger to the waitperson while finishing their conversation before ordering tying up the servers time and irritating fellow tablemates.

One time on the Acela Express there was some guy on the cell phone for about two hours applying for a loan to buy a boat. He told the loan officer on the phone how much money he had etc. etc. He even gave account numbers ovet the phone. It was unbelievable. There is a reason why the quiet cars are so popular.

I like the ones in line at stores or gas stations. You know when the card reader isn't working and the person has no cash. You stood in line 10 minutes and watched 2 other employees walk by not to open another line but just to show their not doing anything. You have to listen how they changed the bag for the garbage and watched the neighbor shave their dog. Let alone all the profanity that comes from ones mouth.
I am glad we have the Freedom of choice.
