Bugs..

What is up with all of the bugs? (said in a Seinfeld voice) I have never seen so many grasshoppers, spiders, mosquitos, stick bugs, and now my kitchen is being invaded by ants. I want it to stop!!

Usually signs of a bad winter to come, but with the "lack" of a winter last year, some just could be "leftovers" Emoticon

@leslie110 :

Terro brand Liquid Ant Bait. I bought it at an Ace Hardware, the big box stores probably have it too. The only one I've found that works. Careful when you cut the trap open, it's gooey stuff.

@kraziebill
A girl at work today said the same thing. Since we had a mild winter last year, that's why there are so many bugs right now. I wonder what kind of winter we'll have this year?

@AV8R

I put it out this morning when there were only a few ants and now the whole ant population in Morton is in my kitchen eating it up. I hope they all die soon!

What about gnats? I had some come in with bananas and now they just hang around the sink even though it's empty! I've tried the apple cider vinegar/dish soap and not even one fell for it. Emoticon

The gnats like moisture... Dry everything out... Including potted plants...

Gnats,

Put some bleach down the drain. They could be using gunk stuck in the pipes for breeding. The bleach will fix that.

Squirt the gnats with Windex. For ants, I agree - Terro is the best. We had a wasp in the house the other day. For them, I keep around a can of gloriously sticky Aqua-Net hair spray! One spritz and they drop like a rock.
