And the DUI drags on....

So apparently the DUI that hit me 2 years ago decided to not follow the terms of the plea deal and now the state has decided to start the process of revoking the probation.

Here I thought I was going to be finishing this horror story, now I guess I'll be starting another chapter. UGH

That is crazy that you need to be involved! I don't understand how the state would need to involve you!!

Was it your first one? If so it shouldn't be that difficult. If it's your second or third, it gets progressively worse. My bro hasn't had his license for over 5 years. They really give them the run around. There is a hearing officer at the Peoria Drivers license bureau who is super helpful helping you figure out what needs to happen to get your license back. Good luck. It's a *****. Don't drive drunk. (I don't mean that in a snarky way - just letting people know that a DUI can be hell on earth to fix)

@JnJ : Wasn't me. I was hit by a DUI driver.

What happened?

@SAM1096 : I was t-boned by a slightly intoxicated driver (BAC was 0.23) that was kind enough to let their insurance lapse just 6 weeks prior to the accident. I was lucky that the state charged them with aggravated DUI and awarded me restitution.

@SAM1096 : No injuries other than had a pretty good concussion, and still experience some minor memory issues, but seems to slowly get better as time goes.

What you don't see it the other side where I was pushed into a brick building.

@RambleOn : And just to be alive. I'm not a church guy, but that event certainly has made me change the way I live because every minute is a gift.

Yeah we have someone who is supposed to be paying my husband a court ordered restitution. He has received maybe two payments. I doubt hubs will ever see the rest of the money.

@kraziebill : Curious if you had uninsured motorist coverage? We carry it, but if doesn't help out in a case like this? That's awful!

uninsured motorist coverage

@mypeez : I did as well as underinsured motorists, but neither helped in this case. I also had medical coverage and that covered my med bills (until I maxed that out). I had dropped "full coverage", so nothing to cover the truck damage.
